
Men's Track's Lauredan, Jr., Named UAA Athlete of the Week

New York University junior Bernier Lauredan, Jr. earned the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award.
Lauredan, Jr., placed third in the 800-meter run and ran on the third-place distance medley relay at the New York Metropolitan Championships at the New Balance Track and Field Center in Manhattan, helping the Violets, the lone NCAA Division III team at the meet, to a seventh-place finish in a field of 13 teams. His time of 1:54.96 in the 800 meters race missed the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standard by a mere .56 seconds.
Lauredan, Jr. ran leadoff in the 400-meter leg of the Violets distance medley team, which posted a time of 10:19:83. Last season, he earned All-American honors after running the 800-meter leg of the Violets distance medley team that posted a program best fifth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships (10:05.93).
