Women’s Tennis Sweeps Ithaca

The New York University women's tennis team blanked Ithaca College 9-0 on Sunday, March 30, in Ithaca, NY.

The Violets (7-3) are currently riding a six-match win streak.

NYU’s #1 doubles duo of seniors Holly Smith and Meggie Smith, ranked #21 in the northeast region, are currently on a five match-winning streak. Both players were also victorious in their singles matches on Sunday, the seventh consecutive singles win for Meggie.

Junior Stephanie Tu, who plays #2 singles, is also on a winning role for the Violets, having won each of here last seven singles matches.

“Our team played well overall,” said NYU head coach Horace Choy. “The women stayed on top of their game the entire weekend and produced three impressive victories.”

The Violets return to the court Friday, April 4, to compete against The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ.
