Women's Tennis Sweeps Salisbury

The New York University women's tennis team blanked host Salisbury University 9-0 on Friday, February 29, in Salisbury, MD.

The Violets, now 2-0 in the spring and 4-3 overall in 2007-08, swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matches.

Seniors Holly and Meggie Smith (no relation) won their #1 doubles match, as well as their #1 and #3 singles matches, respectively.

Also winning two matches for the Violets were junior Stephanie Tu (#2 singles, #2 doubles), senior Jackie Manning (#4 singles, #2 doubles), and freshman Alexandra Havas (#6 singles, #3 doubles).

NYU's other winners were freshman Lisa Mijovic at #3 doubles and junior Amanda Freedman at #5 singles.

The Violets return to action when they face Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, at 4:00pm on Thursday, March 27.
