The New York University men's tennis team won each of its first eight matches en route to an 8-1 victory over Drew University on Wednesday, April 9, in Madison, NJ.

After losing a hard-fought 5-4 match to Queens College on Sunday, the Violets (6-7) were quick to bounce back, sweeping all three doubles competitions while winning the first five singles matches.

NYU dominated overall, winning a combined 13 out of 15 sets against Drew (7-5).

Senior co-captain Mikhail Gurevich, juniors Calvin Chou and Brett Levin, and sophomores Eugene Tsarevskiy and P.J. Marranca were all victorious in their singles matches for the Violets.

Additionally, freshmen Phillip Rosenstein and Mike Greene defeated Victor Kolarov and Sayed Saber of Drew 8-3 in the #3 doubles bout.

“After suffering a tough loss to Queens over the weekend our team showed great poise out there today,” NYU head coach Horace Choy commented. “It was a great team effort, and I am looking forward to facing Brandeis University this weekend”.

Indeed, the Violets return to the court Saturday, April 12, at 11:00am, when they face Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
