
Women's Swimming & Diving Team Ends Dual Meet Season Undefeated

The New York University women's swimming and diving team finished its dual meet season on Saturday with a perfect 11-0 record, defeating Vassar College 183-107 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Senior captain Dorota Sawicz performed strongly for the Violets, winning the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.49) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.60).
Sophomore Danielle Hildebrandt was also a multiple winner for NYU, taking the 200-yard butterfly in 2:17.71 and the 100-yard freestyle in 57.10.
"We felt we had a great meet and are now gearing up for the UAA (University Athletic Association )Championships," said head coach Lauren Beam. "Going undefeated heading into the championship portion of the season gives us a lot of confidence. We now have a little time to rest and prepare to swim fast at the UAA's."
Senior captain Melanie Peters was another double- winner for the Violets, taking the one-meter dive with 262.88 points and the three-meter dive with 292.05 points.
The Violets are off for the next few weeks as they gear up for the UAA Championships starting on February 20 at the University of Rochester.
