Women's Swimming & Diving Starts Strong at ECAC Championships

The New York University women's swimming and diving team sits alone atop the standings with 91 points after the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, NY.

Junior Cait Albrecht, sophomore Patti Beck and freshmen Chelsea Pfohl and Maria Woodman helped the Violets took second place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.73).

Sophomore Kacey McCaffrey captured second place in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:54.74), while three other Violets finished in the top 10 as well: sophomore Kelsey Dean took fourth (18:08.90), freshman Alexandra Strzempko finished fifth (18:12.81), and senior captain Dorota Sawicz took eighth (18:20.68).
