The New York University men's swimming and diving team defeated Vassar College 169-106 on Saturday and finished its dual meet portion of the season undefeated.

Senior Brad Hartstein helped lead the way for the 9-0 Violets, capturing both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes with times of 1:02.06 and 2:17.02, respectively. He was also a member of the Violets' winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:41.46) along with senior captain Matt Ferreira, senior Andrew Guyton and sophomore Eric Pcholinski.

Senior Chris Wolff was also a multiple winner, taking the 100-yard freestyle (49.06) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.17).

Freshman diver Max Norris continued to be a force for the Violets, winning the one-meter dive with 290.85 points. He also took second place in the three-meter dive with 259.58 points.

"Our confidence is very high right now after finishing the dual meet season undefeated," said NYU head coach Bob Sorenson. "In today's meet, we had guys try some different events to help prep for the UAA (University Athletic Association) Championships and we feel strong going into them. We are looking to do well there and qualify for as many NCAA events as we can."

The Violets have a few weeks off before returning to the pool at the UAA Championships, which begin on February 20 at the University of Rochester.
