
Men's Swimming & Diving Off to Strong Start at ECAC Championships

The New York University men's swimming and diving team sits atop the leaderboard after the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, NY.
The Violets secured a total of 88 points in the two events to grab the early team lead.
NYU posted a second-place finish and earned 34 points in the 200-yard medley relay (1:35.48). The team consisted of senior captains Matt Ferreira and Brad Thornton, senior Shaughn Keating, and junior Andrew Lardiere.
Junior Paul Hogan brought in 17 points for the team as he finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:15.82). Freshman Andrew King took fifth in the event (17:06.18), while fellow freshman Steven Oates placed seventh (17:10.52). Sophomore Kieran Layton was right behind Oates, taking eighth in 17:16.00.
