The New York University men's swimming and diving team defeated Case Western Reserve University and the University of Rochester in a pair of dual meets against University Athletic Association opponents hosted by Rochester on Saturday.
Junior Eric Wang led the way for the Violets, capturing three individual events. He won the 100 fly in a time of 53.20, as well as the 200 fly (1:59.57) and the 200 IM (2:00.56).
Junior Paul Hogan was a double-winner for NYU, taking the 1,000 free in a time of 9:57.87 and the 500 free in a time of 4:51.78.
Freshman Andrew King was NYU's other dual-winner, winning the 200 free in a time of 1:47.28 and the 200 breast in a time of 2:17.32.
The Violets' 400 free relay team of sophomore Eric Pcholinski, senior Matthew Ferreira, sophomore Kieran Layton, and senior captain Brad Thornton was also victorious, triumphing in a time of 3:15.71.
The NYU diving team also had a strong showing with freshman Max Norris capturing both the one-meter (242.35) and three-meter (248.00) competitions.
"It was beneficial to compete against other UAA schools so early in the season," said NYU head coach Bob Sorensen. "We now have a better idea of what to expect when we face them again at the UAA Championships later in the season."
The Violets return to action on Saturday, November 3, when the team hosts Rowan University for Family and Alumni Day.
