Men's Diving Norris Earns UAA Athlete of the Week

New York University freshman Max Norris earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week Honors on Oct. 22.

Norris captured the one-meter dive in his first collegiate meet, helping the Violets win the season-opening 2007 NYU Invitational held Oct. 19 and 20. He finished first in the one-meter springboard with a score of 261.82, defeating his nearest competitor by 26.92 points.

Norris’ performance was instrumental in helping the Violets to a first-place finish in the Invitational. Overall, NYU totaled 1,187 points and easily defeated SUNY Cortland (877) and Stevens Institute of Technology (717).
