Men's Swimming Lardiere Captures UAA Athlete of the Week

New York University junior Andrew Lardiere took home University Athletic Association Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week Honors on Oct. 22 .

Lardiere captured three individual events and contributed to three triumphant relays as the Violets won the season-opening 2007 NYU Invitational held Oct. 19-20. Individually, Lardiere set the pace in the 50 freestyle (21.82), 100 butterfly (54.31) and 200 freestyle (1:48.49). On the relays, Lardiere swam a leg on the winning 200 medley (1:40.59), 400 freestyle (3:19.14) and 400 medley (3:37.57) relays.

Lardiere’s performance helped lead the Violets to a first-place finish in the Invitational. Overall, NYU totaled 1,187 points and easily defeated SUNY Cortland (877) and Stevens Institute of Technology (717).
