New York University placed four student-athletes on the University Athletic Association (UAA) 2007 Women's Soccer All-Association Team announced Friday, with senior goalkeeper Katie Barnes and junior forward Sarah Pillemer garnering Second Team honors.

Freshman forwards Rebecca Assing and Laura Palumbo earned Honorable Mention for their outstanding play this season.

Also a Second Team All-UAA honoree in 2005, Barnes enjoyed a breakthrough season that saw her post career highs in wins (10-7-2), shutouts (8) and goals against average (1.09). She helped NYU get off to a program-best 10-0-1 start, then recorded nine saves in the Violets' 0-0 draw with nationally ranked Emory University on Oct. 28.

A Second Team All-UAA pick last fall, Pillemer established career highs in goals (7) and points (16), tying for the team lead in the latter category, as NYU's go-to offensive player. She notched a point in each of her first four matches. Among her goals this season was a gorgeous tally in a 2-1 loss to UAA Champion Washington University on Oct. 12.

Assing led the Violets in goals (8) and game-winning goals (3) while tying for the team lead in points (16). She found the back of the net twice in a 4-0 victory over Case Western Reserve University on Sept. 29 that gave the Violets their first UAA victory since 2005.

Palumbo also played a starring role as a rookie, tying for second in game-winning goals (2) and third in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14). Her finest performance came against Case Western Reserve, when she tallied two goals and two assists for a career-best six points to earn UAA Co-Athlete of the Week - Offense honors on Oct. 2.
