After 110 minutes of hard-fought, thrilling soccer, the New York University women's soccer team settled for a 0-0 tie after two overtimes against nationally ranked University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Emory University on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.

Senior goalkeeper Katie Barnes played a brilliant game between the pipes for the Violets (10-5-2, 1-4-1 UAA), stopping nine shots, including one in each of the extra periods.

The Violets are now 0-8-5 all-time against the Eagles (14-1-2, 3-1-2 UAA), ranked #11 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas National Rankings and #14 by d3kicks.com. It snapped NYU's four-game losing streak against Emory, dating back to a 1-1 tie at home on Nov. 2, 2002.

Barnes made a key save at 103:08 on a shot by Emory's Joyce Lam to preserve her career-best eighth shutout.

Emory's Emily Fedeles proved equally adept, making four saves. The Eagles played the final 67:29 down a player due to a red card.

Emory owned an edge on shots (14-12) and corner kicks (6-4), while NYU was whistled for offsides five times.

NYU concludes its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 3, when it travels to Waltham, MA, to face UAA rival Brandeis University at 1:30 p.m.
