Men's Soccer's Dhanens, Wright Earn Weekly Accolades

New York University juniors Adam Dhanens and Chris Wright earned Athlete of the Week Honors from the University Athletic Association (UAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), respectively.

Dhanens received UAA Co-Athlete of the Week – Offense honors for his contributions against Richard Stockton College and Eastern Connecticut State University. He produced both tallies in a 2-2 draw against Richard Stockton on Sept. 12, then assisted on the lone score of the game against Eastern Connecticut State on Sept. 16. Dhanens ranks second on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists).

Wright was named ECAC Metro Defensive Player of the Week for his work between the pipes for the Violets. He notched eight saves in the 2-2 draw against Richard Stockton and notched his first clean sheet in the 1-0 victory against Eastern Connecticut State.

The Violets, ranked #13 by d3kicks.com and #20 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll return to the pitch Wednesday, Sept. 19, against the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
