Freshman Theresa Apoznanski and senior captain Gretchen Johnson both tied for seventh place overall, highlighting the New York University women's golf team's performance Monday at the Muhlenberg College Invitational at Lehigh Country Club in Allentown, PA.

Playing just their second-ever tournament, the Violets carded a 398 on the par-70, 5,843-yard course. Lehigh University captured the team title with a score of 341.

Apoznanski and Johnson both shot a 90, finishing 10 strokes off the winning tally of 80 recorded by Lehigh's Ana Nam.

Rounding out the scoring foursome for NYU were freshmen Jea Min (108) and Joanna Lau (110), who placed 25th and 26th, respectively.

Also competing Monday for the Violets were juniors Jordan Zuspann (111, t-27th) and Kate McAleer (119, 31st). McAleer competed as an individual. Neither Zuspann's nor McAleer's scores counted toward NYU's team total.

The Violets return to the links Saturday, April 12, when they tee off at the Vassar College Invitational, which will be held at Casperkill Country Club in Poughkeepsie, NY.
