
Golfers Finish 12th at the Duke Nelson Invitational

24th Annual Duke Nelson Invitational Results
The New York University men's golf team finished 12th in the 26-team field at the 24th Annual Duke Nelson Invitational, which was hosted by Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, on Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16.
The Violets shot a second-round score of 307 and finish with a two-day total of 633.
Skidmore College, which was in third-place after the first day, recorded a 292 on Sunday and won the tournament with an overall score of 599.
Leading the way for NYU was senior Adam Krainson, who followed up his team-best 79 on Saturday with a four-over par 75 on Sunday. He finished tied for 22nd overall in the 128-player field.
NYU sophomore Mike Leibfried also shot a 75 on Sunday and finish tied for 39th overall.
Freshman Doug Hamilton (160 total, T52nd), senior Matt McGinnis (161, T58th) and senior Andrew Gihm (169, T99th) also competed for NYU.
"Our second day was much better," commented head coach Chris Kosiba. "We still aren't satisfied as a team, though. We look forward to a good week of practice and coming out and performing better next week."
After the first day of play the Violets were tied for 13th with Manhattanville College at 326.
The Violets return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Williamstown, Massachusetts, to compete in the Williams College Invitational. Tee-off is scheduled for 8am.
