Men's Golf's Leibfried Earns UAA Honors

New York University sophomore Mike Leibfried earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday, September 11.

Leibfried finished second individually out of a field of 71 golfers to help lead the Violets to a second-place finish at the Skidmore College/Tim Brown Invitational in Saratoga Springs, NY, on September 9-10. Leibfried, who shot a two-round total of 142 (-2), was one of only three golfers to finish under par for the tournament.

After shooting a par 72 in the first round, Leibfried shot a two-under 70 in the second round, which tied him for the 36-hole lead with Skidmore College’s Toby Spector.

However, Spector birdied the first playoff hole to capture the individual title.
