
Frons Headlines Women's Fencing Team at Intercollegiate Fencing Association Championships

The New York University women's fencing team traveled to the campus of Columbia University in Manhattan for the Intercollegiate Fencing Association (IFA) Championships on Sunday, February 24.
Sophomore Sam Frons’ third-place finish earned her a bronze medal in women’s epee, the highest individual award won by any NYU fencer, man or woman, at the competition.
Top performers also included two freshman foilists, Amanda Rysling and Sophia Ciaravino, who each recorded top-16 finishes for the Violets.
"Our overall energy was high throughout the tournament," said NYU assistant coach Lauren Willock. "Our performance today will give us confidence as we look forward to the NCAA Regionals next week."
Overall, the men and women’s teams combined for an eighth-place finish.
