Men's Sabre Duo Wins UAA Honors

New York University sophomores Jared Hammond and Sam Roukas were honored as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Fencing Co-Athletes of the Week on March 3.

Hammond and Roukas both qualified for the NCAA National Collegiate Championships in sabre with their performances at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, which was held Poughkeepsie, NY on March 2. Hammond finished 6th in the final round of competition out of a field of 30 competitors. Roukas finished 11th, and earned one of eight available regional NCAA Championship berths.

Both Hammond and Roukas competed at the NCAA Championships last season.

The NCAA National Collegiate Championships will take place on March 13-15 in Columbus, OH.
