
#21/23 Women's Basketball Begins UAA Road Swing Friday at Emory

The New York University women's basketball team will complete its first time through its University Athletic Association (UAA) schedule this weekend, beginning with a 6 p.m. tip-off Friday night at Emory University in Atlanta.
Emory will provide LiveStats for the contest, and will also provide an live audio webcast for a fee of $10.
Ranked #21 by D3hoops.com and #23 in the USA Today ESPN Division III Coaches poll, NYU (13-3, 2-3 UAA) has lost two straight games, including a 72-68 setback against the University of Chicago at home on Sunday.
In that game, junior forward Jessica McEntee became the 13th Violet women's basketball player to reach 1,000 points. She finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, while freshman guard Chelsea Blake (14 points) and sophomore guard Jen Hum-Traverso (13) also hit double digits.
The reigning UAA Player of the Year, McEntee leads the Association in scoring (20.7 ppg) and rebounding (11.9 rpg), ranking eighth and 18th, respectively, in those categories.
Emory (8-8, 1-4 UAA) snapped a four-game losing streak and earned its first UAA victory Sunday by beating Carnegie Mellon University, 75-54, at home. Sophomore LeShonda Lillard tallied a game-high 18 points for the Eagles.
The Violets lead the all-time series against Emory 30-7, including a series sweep last season as McEntee averaged 28.0 points and 18.0 rebounds in two victories.
After Friday's game, NYU will head to Cleveland to face Case Western Reserve University (8-8, 2-3 UAA) at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Violets have won 28 of 29 meetings with the Spartans, sweeping a pair in 2007 as McEntee averaged 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds.
