
Women's Basketball McEntee Named Women's DIII News Player of the Month

New York University junior co-captain Jessica McEntee was tabbed as the Women's DIII News Player of the Month for December.
The forward led the team to a 4-0 mark for the month. Overall, the Violets are 8-0 and ranked #4 in both the USA Today/ESPN and D3hoops.com polls.
During the December stretch, McEntee collected four double-doubles, including scoring a career-high 38 points against SUNY New Paltz on Dec. 1. She also set the record for most points in a game at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center. Her 20 free throws in the game also established both Coles Sports Center and NYU single-game records.
McEntee also garnered other honors throughout the month. She also earned consecutive University Athletic Association Player of the Week and PrestoSports/Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association Player of the Week twice in a row.
For the season, McEntee is averaging 20.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game for the Violets.
The Violets next return to the hardwood on Friday, Jan. 4, as the team takes on Johns Hopkins University at the Coles Sports Center at 6 p.m.
