
Nationally Ranked Women's Basketball Ready to Tip Off 2007-08 Campaign

Ranked in the top-10 in three preseason polls, the New York University women's basketball team will make its 2007-08 debut on Friday, Nov. 16, when it hosts Trinity College (CT) in the first round of the NYU Tip-Off Tournament.
NYU's first game will be available via an audio broadcast by WNYU-FM, the University's student station.
The Violets (27-4, 12-2 University Athletic Association (UAA) - Co-Champions) are coming off a banner 2006-07 season that saw them reach the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships Final Four and tie for the second most victories ever in a season.
NYU was ranked in the top-10 by three preseason polls: #2 by the Women's DIII News, #4 in the ESPN/USA Today Division III Poll and #8 by D3Hoops.com.
Head coach Janice Quinn, who enters her 21st season with a record of 439-116 (.791), returns two starters in juniors Jessica McEntee (16.9 ppg, 12.5 rpg, 80.7 FT%) and Gena Brown (8.5 ppg, 36.1 3FG%).
McEntee was tabbed as an All-American by Kodak/Women Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), D3Hoops.com (Second Team) and the Women's DIII News. In addition, the 5-11 native of Flushing, NYU, was named Player of the Year by the UAA, D3Hoops.com (East Region), the Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association (MBWA), and the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA).
