
Men's Basketball Returns to Action Monday at Intracity Rival Hunter

Fresh off a hard-fought loss to #2-ranked Brandeis University, the New York University men's basketball team will seek to resume its winning ways Monday, Jan. 14, with a non-conference road game across the Big Apple at Hunter College.
The Violets (8-3) will tip off against the Hawks at 7 p.m. as the nightcap in a doubleheader that will co-feature the NYU women facing Hunter at 5 p.m.
NYU will provide an internet audio broadcast, while Hunter will offer live stats for the contest.
NYU is coming off a 66-56 loss Saturday at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center against Brandeis, ranked #2 by D3hoops.com. The Violets got a career-high 22 points from freshman forward Richie Polan, the fourth time he has led the team in scoring this season. NYU hit 10 three-pointers against the Judges, the third time this season it connected on 10 or more three-balls.
The Violets are 8-2 in non-conference play this season, including seven straight victories since a 63-49 loss to York College (NY), Hunter's City University of New York Athletic Conference rival, at home on Nov. 26.
Overall, the Violets are 13-2 all-time against the Hawks. This includes a 94-59 triumph over Hunter on Jan. 15, 2007, at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center.
