NYU Men to Host #2 Brandeis in UAA Opener Saturday at Home

On the strength of a seven-game winning streak, the New York University men's basketball team will host Brandeis University in the University Athletic Association (UAA) opener for both teams Saturday, Jan. 12, at 42 p.m. at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

NYU enters with a record of 8-2 after defeating Clarkson University 65-44 on Tuesday. Brandeis is 10-1 and ranked #2 by D3hoops.com.

The Violets are 30-13 all-time against the Judges, but have lost three straight against their UAA rivals, including a pair of contests in 2007: 52-48 on Jan. 13 and 76-67 in the regular-season finale on Feb. 24.

Under 20th-year head coach Joe Nesci, NYU is 12-6 in UAA openers; Nesci became head coach 17 games into the 1988-89 season.
