Men's Basketball to Make Season Debut Saturday vs. Framingham St.
11/16/07
The New York University men's basketball team will play its season opener Saturday, Nov. 17, when it hosts Framingham State College at 1 p.m. in the first round of the 2007 NYU Tip-Off Tournament.
That game will be available via audio broadcast on WNYU-FM, the University's student station.
NYU went 22-6 last season and captured the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Championship.
Senior guard Charlie Parker is the Violets' lone returning starter, having averaged 7.1 points and a team-best 5.2 assists. The 6-1 native of Brooklyn also knocked down 41.0% of his three-point attempts.
Parker will serve as a co-captain this season with 6-9 senior forward Michael Magee (4.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg), a key frontcourt reserve the last two seasons for NYU.
