2007 Atlantic Regional Women's Entries

The NCAA will be using Direct Athletics for meet entry management. Below is a link for directions on how to set-up an account with Direct Athletics. If you already have an account with Direct Athletics, you can access their website through the link below. All participant entries must be entered through Direct Athletics. No participant will be allowed to race if they are not registered with Direct Athletics.

Regional Entry Procedures

Sunday, November 4th
  • 5 p.m. (regional host time) – Deadline for receipt of regional entry form through the online process via Direct Athletics http://www.directathletics.com/ncaa.html.
  • 5 p.m. local time – Coaches must submit the team information form to Kristin Steckmesser at the national office.
  • Coaches of teams potentially under consideration must fill out a “team information form” (click the form and the link will take you to the online location) about their teams’ regular season meets, specifically the last 3 meets of the season, prior to regionals. This form will be utilized by the committee and assist them in their data collection for selections. Information to include on the form is meet name, link to results, team place, team score and the names of the seven student-athletes that competed. The form will need to be sent to Kristin Steckmesser at the NCAA preferably by email (ksteckmesser@ncaa.org) or fax (317/917-6210) by the Sunday prior to regionals, November 4th, at 5 pm local time.
  • 5:01 p.m. – Regional entries considered late and may be accepted with a $100 fine per games committee approval.

    • Monday, November 5th
    The host will then post preliminary entry lists by 5 p.m. local time.

    Tuesday, November 6th
    Late entries and corrections must be submitted online to Direct Athletics by 5 p.m. Late entries and corrections are subjected to a $100 fine per team and gender and must be approved by the Games Committee. No further entries will be accepted after this deadline.


    National Championship Qualifier/Entry Information

    Teams (32 per gender) will be selected in the following manner:
  • 16 teams will automatically qualify (two per region);
  • 16 at-large teams will be selected by the committee to be determined using the published criteria in the championships handbook;
  • Only the top five teams in each regional will be considered.

    • Individuals (56 per gender) will be selected in the following manner:
  • 56 Individuals will automatically qualify (7 per region)
  • Remove the team championship qualifiers from regionals and renumber the remaining individuals (not with a qualifying team) to determine the individual national qualifiers.

    • Sunday, November 11, 2007
  • Noon ET: Committee selection call.
  • 3 pm ET: Championships fields are posted online at www.ncaasports.com, www.raceberryjam.com and the championship meet website - http://www.stolaf.edu/athletics/07ncaaxc/
  • 3 pm – 9 pm ET: Online entry period for cross country championships, any entries submitted after this time shall be considered late. Entries must be completed through Direct Athletics (http://www.directathletics.com/ncaa.html)
  • 9:01 pm ET: Entries considered late, but may be considered for the meet, with a $100 fine per team until 11 p.m. ET. After 11 p.m. ET no further entries will be accepted
