Krolikowski, a former standout at Pocono Mountain Hiegh School in Swiftwater and a Cresco native, will forever be remembered as one of the heroes of the Violets’ 1997 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship Team. She scored the game-tying basket with 26 seconds left against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire that helped propel NYU to its first national title in women’s basketball. Krolikowski earned Kodak First Team All-America honors in 1997, one of only six Violet players to ever earn the honor. She was also a First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection in each of her final three seasons (1995, 1996, 1997). An outstanding perimeter shooter, Krolikowski ranks second all-time at NYU with 1,802 career points. She also ranks among the Violets’ top-five in seven career statistical categories including: scoring, three-point field goals (264, second), three-point field goal percentage (35.8, second), three-point field goal attempts (738, second), scoring average (15.9 ppg, third), field goals made (624, third), and free-throw percentage (71.3, fifth). She also set a program mark by hitting 20 consecutive free throws in 1994. Off the court, Krolikowski earned the NYU Varsity Club President’s Scholar Athlete Award in 1996 and garnered GTE/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America District I honors that year. Krolikowski, who graduated from NYU’s College of Arts and Science with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and engineering in 1998, was awarded an NCAA post-graduate scholarship in 1997. She now resides in Haledon, New Jersey In addition to Krolikowski, the trio of Richard Maiocco (Men’s Track and Field, ’52), Mike Muzio (Men’s Basketball/Baseball/Coach/Administrator, ’58), and Robert Schwarz (Men’s Volleyball, ’00) will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame on May 6.
