New York University alumnus, Oleg Geller, has been selected for induction into the NYU Athletics Hall of Fame. Geller, a 1996 graduate of NYU's School of Education, currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Geller was a four-time All-American (1994-95), seven-time University Athletic Association (UAA) diving champion (1993-96), and three-time UAA Diver of the Year (1994-96). A four-year member of the NYU varsity swim team and three-time team MVP (1994-96), Geller was named NYU Freshman of the Year in 1993 and captained the squad in his junior and senior campaigns. In addition to his athletic achievements, Geller was immensely successful outside of the pool. A Dean's Circle Scholar, he earned the President's Award for Volunteerism and Community Service and was a 1994 ECAC/Robbins Male Scholar Athlete. Currently, Geller is the president of Function Physical Therapy, P.C., and he is planning to pursue an MBA from Columbia University, where he has already gained admittance. Geller also serves as a Board Member of the School of Education Alumni Association. Geller, along with fellow NYU alumni Dorothy Hafner deCapriles (1932-fencing), George G. King (1956-cross country and track) and Arthur Tauber (1942- fencing), will be inducted into New York University's Hall of Fame at a dinner to be held on October 13, 2001. The four athletes will be honored for their collegiate and lifetime accomplishments, along with their commitment to NYU Athletics. |
