New York University alumna, Dorothy Hafner deCapriles, has been selected for induction into the NYU Athletics Hall of Fame. A 1932 graduate of NYU's School of Law, deCapriles currently resides in Menlo Park, California. The wife of four-time Olympian Dean Miguel A. deCapriles, she is the co-founder of the Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association (IWFA). deCapriles helped lead NYU to IWFA Championships in 1929, 1931 and 1932, and in 1932 she won the IWFA individual foil title. Her post-collegiate accomplishments include work as an attorney and post-graduate studies. deCapriles, along with fellow NYU alumni Oleg Geller (1996-diving), George G. King (1956-cross country and track) and Arthur Tauber (1942-fencing), will be inducted into New York University's Hall of Fame at a dinner to be held on October 13, 2001. The four athletes will be honored for their collegiate and lifetime accomplishments, along with their commitment to NYU Athletics. |
