Riverbank State Park
NYU is not playing its home games at Riverbank State Park at this time.
Riverbank State Park is the site of the Violets' home soccer field, located on the upper west side of Manhattan, built on the Hudson River. This artificial turf field that New York University uses for both games and practices is surrounded by a 400-meter rubber track.
Directions
By Subway:
- 1/9 to 145th Street station
- Walk 1 block west to Riverside Drive (down the hill)
- Field is over bridge
By Bus:
- Take M11 up Amsterdam Avenue; line ends in Park and bus will drop you off in front of field.
By Car:
- Riverbank is a state park and recreation center on top of a sewer treatment facility on the Hudson River. It was designed to be used by the neighborhood and therefore there is no real parking in the facility. You will enter the park at the north end. You must stop at the booth before driving on the bridge over the West Side Highway. We suggest looking for a parking space along Riverside Drive or other local streets. There is also parking three levels down underneath the skating rink. You can ask for directions and map at the booth if there are no parking spaces on Riverside Drive.
From the Southwest:
- Take West Side Highway north
- Exit: 95th Street (not 96th Street)
- Turn left at light onto Riverside Drive north
- Take Riverside Drive up to 145th Street
- Turn left at 145th Street into Park to drop off players
- Find parking on Riverside Drive or in garage under Park
From the Southeast:
- Take FDR Drive north
- Exit: 135th Street
- Go west on 135th Street until it dead ends
- Turn right and continue uptown (north) until 145th Street
- Turn left at 145th Street into Park to drop off players
- Find parking on Riverside Drive or in garage under Park
From the North:
- Take Hutchinson River Parkway
- Follow signs for G.W. Bridge and Henry Hudson/West Side Highway
- (Do not get on G.W. Bridge.)
- Take West Side Highway South
- Exit: 158th Street
- Follow signs for Riverside Drive
- Continue downtown (south) on Riverside Drive
- Turn right at 145th Street into Park to drop off players
- Find parking on Riverside Drive or in garage under Park
