Fitness Room Supervisor
Positioned in the Cardiovascular and Strength Training areas including Main Weight Room, Aerobic Fitness Room, Exercise Prescription Room/Annex, and Mezzanine and Natatorium level balconies. Ensure the safe and proper usage of all cardiovascular and strength equipment; provide instruction and information to users; enforce rules; train and supervise Fitness Monitor staff; monitor equipment in terms of operation and maintenance including free weights.
Qualifications/Skills
Minimum of one year cardiovascular and strength training experience, or National Fitness and Personal Training certification. Must have strong leadership skills. Minimum 10 hours per week availability. Resume required.
Fitness Room Monitor
Positioned in main weight room or aerobic fitness room; ensure safety and proper usage of Life Fitness, Nautilus, Hammer Strength, and free weight equipment; provide instruction and information to users; enforce rules; monitor equipment in terms of operation and maintenance; operations duties as assigned including checking ID cards for proper validation, taking reservations for all racquet sports, disseminating information regarding programs and procedures; assist with special projects and conduct group tours.
Qualifications/Skills
Proper attire required; must be attentive, conscientious; responsible, helpful, and have the ability to interact and communicate well with others; excellent phone etiquette; resumes and references required.
Lifeguard Staff
Ensure the health and safety of patrons using the Natatorium and provide First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation if necessary. Both lifeguards and supervisors needed.
Qualifications/Skills
Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR-certificates or equivalents; must pass pre-employment skills test demonstrating lifesaving skills; must be watchful, polite, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to enforce rules.
Equipment Room Assistant
Assist in distribution and collection of equipment to and from the general public and individual varsity teams; handle inventory projects, laundry room duties, and procedures associated with maintaining a rental locker system; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
Customer service skills training and references required.
Exercise Machine Technician
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on exercise machines; days and hours are somewhat flexible, but require a 2-3 day workweek and 8-12 hours/week.
Qualifications/Skills
Must be reliable and responsible, with mechanical abilities and some familiarity with the functions of certain cardiovascular machines (Stairmaster, Life Step, rower, stationary bicycles, etc.).
Front Desk Attendant
Check ID cards for proper validation, take reservations for all racquet sports, disseminate information regarding Center programs and policies and gather statistics; assist in special projects including group tours; Fitness Room responsibilities; other duties as assigned. Coupled with Fitness Room Monitor position.
Qualifications/Skills
Must be attentive, and conscientious; proper dress required; must be able to deal with the public under pressure; excellent communication skills; good telephone manner.
Recreation Assistant
Assist the Assistant Director for Recreation and Club Sports in running special events, coordinating publicity, and facilitate with Coles class registration.
Qualifications/Skills
Prefer freshman or sophomore, with an interest in sports and fitness. Must be well organized and familiar with MS Access. Knowledge of MS Excel and Word a plus. Good typing skills.
Intramurals Assistant
Assist the Intramural Coordinator with Intramural events. Hours flexible.

Event Staff
Event Staffing is needed for our varsity season and for special events; all student employees are eligible to work event staff as long as they are in good standing with their department.
Qualifications/Skills
Flexible schedule; work physically demanding events; willing to work some evenings and commute to a number of events.
Athletic Trainer Assistant
Assist in the preparation and completion of team practices and competitions; administer treatments to athletes and maintain records regarding injury care.
Qualifications/Skills
Athletic training experience preferred; must be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within the academic year; ability to work independently; previous experience or desire to work with athletes is required.
Sports Information Student Assistant (SID Assistant)
Assist Sports Information Director in writing and editing media guides, brochures, game programs, and press releases; which includes phone and written correspondence with opposing institutions, local and national media; daily and seasonal statistical record-keeping; possible travel with teams.
Qualifications/Skills
Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills; PageMaker, Photoshop and Microsoft Word preferred; knowledge of sports important; Journalism, English, and Sports Management majors preferred.
Academic Affairs Assistant
Basic clerical duties including filing, answering phones and other special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
Must be reliable with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced office environment; must be comfortable with Microsoft Office software; courteous phone manner is mandatory.
Payroll Assistant
Basic clerical duties including data entry; ensure proper filing of paperwork; process and duplicate paperwork; run on-campus errands; type memos; date, organize and dispense payroll checks; assist with special projects.
Qualifications/Skills
Student employee must be motivated, reliable and attentive to details; minimum typing speed of 45 wpm; able to multi-task; experience in Excel and Word a must; proficiency in Access a plus; must be available to work through the summer, minimum 15-20 hrs/wk; confidentiality is essential.
Office Assistant
Assist one of the Department's directors or managers. Hours flexible, and minimum number of hours required.
Qualifications/Skills
Must be well organized and familiar with MS Excel and Word; typing skills 45wpm; attention to detail; neat in appearance.
Pro Shop Assistant
Assist Equipment Room Managers with Pro Shop operating hours. Includes sales, inventory, and stocking of merchandise.
Qualifications/Skills
Sales and cashier experience preferred.
