Sam Albert is in his second year as the Violet Booster Club Coordinator. He is responsible for managing the department's fundraising, development, and alumni relations programs.

Albert came to NYU from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC, where he served as an athletic operations and facilities assistant from 2004-06. He performed game management duties and supervised event staff at Tar Heel home athletic contests. In addition, he was actively involved in the planning and hosting of several NCAA and Atlantic Coast Conference tournaments.

A 2001 graduate of the University of Rochester with a bachelor's degree in biology, Albert was a four-time University Athletic Association (UAA) champion in track & field. He earned UAA All-Academic honors three times and received the athletic department’s John Vitone Award, given to the senior who best exemplifies sportsmanship and leadership in intercollegiate athletics. Albert also worked in Rochester’s Sports Information Office as an undergraduate.

Following his graduation, Albert served as an assistant coach for the Yellowjackets’ track & field program from 2001-04. While there, he helped guide the student-athletes to 20 school records and three All-America honors.

Albert also earned master's degrees in education from Rochester in 2002 and in sport administration from North Carolina in 2006.

A native of Buffalo, NY, Albert resides in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife Mackenzie.
