Head Coach: Nathan Young (young@nyu.edu)
Coach Nathan Young joined NYU Athletics in the fall of 2005. In
his first year, NYU's Women's Varsity 4+ achieved a bronze medal
at the New York State Championship and its Men's 2- achieved a silver
medal at the New York Metropolitan Championship.
Employed full-time at Greenwich Water Club in Cos Cob, CT, Young
works as the Program Coordinator for Junior Rowing and coaches the
High School girls and oversees the Middle School rowing program.
From 1999 to 2004, Coach Young rowed for the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, winning the 2003 ECAC National Invitational
Championship in the Men's Varsity 4+, achieving a bronze medal at
the 2003 IRA Regatta in the Men's Varsity 4+, and a Gold Medal at
the 2004 ECAC National Invitational in the Men's Varsity 8+.
Young also competed for Saratov State Rowing Federation in Saratov,
Russia (2001) Rudergesellschaft Germania in Frankfurt, Germany (2002)
and Columbia Rowing Club in Columbia, South Carolina (2003) where
he also coached juniors alongside his training. Upon graduation
from UNC, he trained with Team Dinamo in Moscow, Russia (2004).
FIRST ASSISTANT COACH: LUCA NAGY
Coach Luca Nagy joined NYU Athletics in September of 2007.
From 2003 to 2007, Coach Nagy rowed for the Princeton University
Openweight Women's Team, winning a silver medal in the EAWRC Eastern
Sprints in 2005, and contributing to the team's Third Place overall
in the 2006 NCAA Division I Championships.
Nagy also competed for Danubius Rowing Club in Budapest, Hungary,
from 2002 to 2006, where she earned medals at the Hungarian National
Championships; gold medals in the Junior pair and Junior Four in
2003, and the Eight in 2004.
Coach Nagy also works part time with the Greenwich Crew team in
CT. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Princeton University.
