The NYU Baseball Club Team has taken great strides since it's founding in 1996. The team has shown considerable progress every year, benefiting from a dedicated group of players and coaches.
Over the past years, the team has out performed expectations by moving from a schedule, which consisted of local club baseball teams and junior varsity programs to a schedule, which includes NCAA Division II, and Division III teams. Our team also has traveled to Florida and competed in the All-Star College Jamboree in Daytona Beach and the Homestead Challenge in Homestead.
Since 2001, the team has been part of the National Collegiate Baseball Association (NCBA). Penn State Baseball Club Alumnus, Sandy Sanderson, who has worked every year in expanding the club league to 100 plus teams and National prominence, founded the NCBA. The NCBA allows teams to play for a Championship Series title at the end of the regular season and is set up like the NCAA College World Series in Omaha. The NCBA has given NYU Club Baseball an opportunity to compete at a higher level.
Today's team members know the value of hard work both
in the gym and on the field will help carry NYU into
next season. The 2005-06 returning team members are
fired up and ready to prove themselves as an elite club
baseball team in the country. |
