Lauredan, Jr., and Nahar Brown Clock Provisional-Qualifying Times at Swarthmore

Senior Nile Nahar-Brown and junior Bernier Lauredan, Jr., each clocked NCAA provisional qualifying times Tuesday to highlight the New York University men's track and field team's performance at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Meet Swarthmore, PA.

Nahar-Brown and Lauredan, Jr., became the Violets' third and fourth provisional qualifiers, respectively, with their personal-best showings. Lauredan, Jr., went through the first 400 of his seeded heat in 53.6 seconds before finishing with his all-time top performance of 1:51.67. Meanwhile, Nahar-Brown also finished the first half of his race in 53.6 seconds before posting a personal-best clocking of 1:52.07.

Lauredan, Jr., and Nahar-Brown posted the seventh and 12th best times, respectively, in Division III as of Tuesday.

Senior and seven-time All-American Hany Abdallah has qualified automatically in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs, while senior Ryan Williams and junior Jesse Schneider are provisional qualifiers in the 5K.

"Both athletes ran great races tonight," head coach Nick McDonough said. "They're peaking at the right time. They're in great shape. Hopefully, their times will get them into the NCAA's."

Also for NYU, junior Maciej Szelezak finished the 800 in the 1:56.50. Meanwhile, freshman Joe Lota placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.78 meters.
