Four members of the New York University men's track & field team ran season bests at the New Balance NYC Qualifying Challenge at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island on Saturday, May 10.
Seniors Nile Nahar-Brown and Jean Blardony, as well as juniors Bernier Lauredan, Jr, and Maciej Szelazek, each ran season bests in the 800 meters, while the times for Nahar-Brown and Szelazek were also career bests.
Lauredan, Jr. posted the fastest time of the group, running the distance in 1:53.59, finishing second in his heat and 10th overall in a field of 64.
Nahar-Brown's career-best time of 1:54.44 was good for a 15th-place finish, while Szelazek's best-ever 1:56.22 landed him in 27th place.
Blardony's time of 1:59.19 put him in 41st place.
"It's good to see these guys in such good shape and running well as the season comes to an end," said NYU head coach Nick McDonough. "They'll all be trying to run PR's in the final two weeks of the season."
NYU's top three finishers on Saturday all qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday in Springfield, MA.
However, before then, the foursome will compete at the Swarthmore Last Chance Invitational this Tuesday in Swarthmore, PA.
