37 Student-Athletes Named to UAA Spring Sport All-Academic Squad
04/24/08
Thirty seven New York University student-athletes were among the 2008 University Athletic Association (UAA) Spring Sport All-Academic honorees.
Twelve men's track and field standouts were honored to lead all of the Violets' teams. Women's track and field placed 11 on the UAA Spring Sport All-Academic squad, while women's tennis had six. Men's golf and men's tennis each put four on the team.
Overall, 391 student-athletes were honored from the UAA's eight member insitutions. All-Academic recognition is given to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum of a 3.200 grade point average -- the same academic qualifying standard used by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nonimation of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
