In a season full of awards and record-breaking achievements, New York University junior forward Jessica McEntee was named the D3hoops.com East Region Player of the Year and was a First Team All-East selection.

McEntee also became the first Violet to ever earn both honors from D3hoops.com in consecutive seasons.

Earlier this month, McEntee was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Player of the Year. It was also the second consecutive UAA Player of the Year honor for McEntee, as well, as she earned the award outright in 2007. McEntee was the fourth Violet to ever be named the Association Player of the Year twice, and the first since Marsha Harris in 1996 and 1997.

McEntee enjoyed a historic campaign for NYU (14-11, 3-11 UAA) in 2007-08, setting a single-season team record for scoring average (20.8 ppg), while also establishing career marks for free throws made (483) and free throw percentage (81.6).

Within the UAA, McEntee tied Association records for points scored (301) and season average (21.5), while establishing the career mark for free throws made (253).

McEntee scored a career-high 38 points vs. SUNY New Paltz on December 1, the third-highest one-game total in team history. Her 20 free throws made in that game established another Violet team record.
