New York University senior 184-pound grappler Nick Coleman captured the University Athletic Association (UAA) Wrestling Athlete of the Week award after winning his weight class at the Metropolitan Conference Championships.

A native of Hershey, PA, Coleman won all three of his bouts as the top seed in his eight class to automatically qualify for the 2008 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships beginning March 7 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Coleman posted victories by decision, pinfall and major decision to improve his record to 32-5 with eight falls.

In the process, Coleman automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, the second time in as many years he has earned his way into the national bracket. In 2007, he placed sixth at 184 to become NYU's fifth-ever All-American; he was also a national Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) Academic All-American last season.

A digital communications and media major in NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Coleman is ranked seventh at 184 in the NWCA Division III Brute-Adidas Individual Ranking. He sports a career record of 90-29 since transferring from the University of North Carolina prior to the 2005-06 campaign.
