Men's Fencing's Rodrigues Earns Second UAA Weekly Accolade

New York University freshman Hugo Rodrigues earned the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Men’s Fencing Athlete of the Week award for the second time this season.

Rodrigues compiled a 12-2 record in the saber as the Violets won all five of their matches at the Brandeis University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology Invitational. Rodrigues lost one bout in both of his matches against Boston College and the United States Air Force Academy, while going a combined 9-0 against Haverford College, MIT, and Association rival Brandeis.

The two-time UAA Athlete of the Week has accumulated a 17-11 overall record in his first collegiate season.

Rodrigues and the Violets return to action on Wednesday, February 13, when they face Sacred Heart University, Hunter College, and host Columbia University beginning at 5pm.
