Women's Fencing's Ciaravino Collects Second UAA Weekly Award

New York University freshman Sophia Ciaravino earned the University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Women’s Fencing Athlete of the Week award for the second time this season.

Ciaravino posted a 16-1 record in the foil in helping the Violets to a 5-1 record over the weekend. Ciaravino finished 14-1 at the Brandeis University/Massachusetts Institute of Technology Invitational, where NYU defeated Boston College, MIT, the United States Air Force Academy, and Haverford College.

The North Wales, PA, native won both of her bouts the following day in a 15-12 win over Tufts University.

Ciaravino and the Violets return to action on Wednesday, February 13, when they face Sacred Heart University, Hunter College, and host Columbia University beginning at 5pm.
