Freshman forward Laura Palumbo of New York University earned the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Soccer Co-Athlete of the Week - Offense award, while sophomore defender Nicole Stutz garnered a place on the d3kicks.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Palumbo enjoyed a career game as the Violets (9-0-1), ranked #25 by d3kicks.com, snapped a 10-match UAA losing streak and captured their first league opener since 2004 with a 4-0 victory over Case Western Reserve University on Sept. 29.

In the triumph over Case Western, Palumbo tallied career highs in goals (2), assists (2) and points (6). This included the game-winning goal at 26:36 when she tapped home a corner kick from sophomore Lucy Dolly Caires.

This is the second time this season Palumbo was tabbed as the UAA Athlete of the Week - Offense, as she also garnered the honor on Sept. 10.

Stutz helped the Violets notch their seventh shutout of the season against Case Western Reserve, dominating along the backline for a defense that limited the Spartans to seven shots. The sophomore's strong play helped NYU snap a 10-match UAA losing streak dating back to 2005, while helping the program capture its first UAA opener since 2004.
