NYU Finishes 14th in Final Director's Cup Standings

Final 2006-07 Division III Director's Cup Standings

New York University finished the 2006-07 ranked #14 in the Sports Academy Director's Cup Division III Standings, which was released June 11.

NYU, which ranked as high as #5 during the winter season, accumulated 578 total points for the year.

During the spring season, the men's track and field team earned 45.5 points for their 27th place finish in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

During the winter season, six NYU teams garnered points. The women's basketball team earned 83 points for making it to the Final Four. The Violets' men's indoor track & field team received 66 points for its 10th-place finish, while the men's swimming & diving team earned 60 points for its 15th-place national finish.

The winter season also included the wrestling team garnering 45 point for its 31st-place finish at the NCAA Championships, while the combined men's and women's fencing team notched 35 points for a 19th-place overall finish. The NYU women's swimming & diving team also earned 22.5 points for its 51s- place NCAA finish.

The fall season scoring included 90 points for the men's cross country team finishing as the national runner-up. The men's soccer team's Final Four appearance garnered 83 points for NYU, while the women's volleyball team earned 50 points for making it to the round of 32 at the NCAA Championship.

Williams College took home the Director's Cup with 1137.5 points, besting Middlebury College by 73 points. Cortland State University, Amherst College and Washington University in St. Louis rounded out the top five.
