
Boone Selected as D3Hoops.com East Region Player of the Year

Jason Boone, a senior on New York University’s men’s basketball team, was named D3Hoops.com’s East Region Player of the Year on Wednesday, March 14.
Boone, who started all 28 games this season, averaged 14.1 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game. His 66 blocks this season led the team, and helped set a new NYU career record of 206.
For his efforts, Boone has received numerous honors in his final year as a Violet. In addition to his Player of the Year award, Boone was also on the D3Hoops.com First Team All-East Region and was selected First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA). Boone was named UAA Athlete Of The Week twice and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Player Of The Week once.
The Violets, who finished 22-6 this season, won their first-ever ECAC Metro Championship with a 58-55 victory over Richard Stockton College on March 3. In that final game of his collegiate career, Boone had eight points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 34 minutes.
