88 Student-Athletes Earn UAA Winter Sport All-Academic Accolades

Eighty-eight New York University student-athletes earned 2006-07 University Athletic Association (UAA) Winter Sport All-Academic honors, it was announced Wednesday.
NYU saw three of its sports have 14 honorees: men's indoor track and field, men's swimming and diving, and women's swimming and diving.
Also represented were men's fencing (11), women's fencing (10), wrestling (9), women's basketball (7), men's basketball (5), and women's track and field (4).
Overall, 532 student-athletes were honored from the UAA's eight member insitutions. All-Academic recognition is given to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and carry a minimum of a 3.200 grade point average -- the same academic qualifying standard used by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the nonimation of Academic All-America candidates in all sports.
