Women's Soccer's Tavares Named District 1 Academic All-American

New York University senior midfielder Jennifer Tavares was selected as a Second Team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-American - District 1.

Student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average are eligible for Academic All-American honors.

A finance and marketing major in NYU's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Tavares has been a University Athletic Association (UAA) Fall Sport All-Academic selection the past three years.

Tavares has started in the Violet midfield the past three seasons, serving as a co-captain the last two years. She garnered All-UAA Honorable Mention accolades in 2004 and has started in 57 of 66 career matches.
