Note: The below information is for Liberal Studies Core program students starting at the Washington Square campus. Students who will begin their freshman year abroad will be contacted by the Liberal Studies Office of Global Programs (gls.abroad@nyu.edu).
How do I register?
Registration Steps
Registration for Core Program freshmen goes live Monday, June 3rd at 9 a.m. (EST). Your registration eligibility will not be activated before that date. Please follow the below checklist to complete first semester registration:
1) If you have not already activated your NetID, visit: http://start.nyu.edu.
a) If you encounter problems, please contact ITS Client Services at (212) 998-3333.
2) Review the comprehensive on-line guide to Albert via the link below before you begin registering:

3) Draft a schedule of the four classes you plan to take in the first semester:
___ Writing I, WRI-UF 101 (Required)
___ Cultural Foundations I, CFI-UF 101 (Required)
___ Social Foundations I, SFI-UF 101 (Required)
___ AND a fourth class, identified by reviewing the Fourth Class Selection beginning on page 10 in this guide or in consultation with your academic advisor.
4) Search for and register for your 4 classes.
a) Registration is through your NYUHome account. Log into your account at: http://www.home.nyu.edu
b) Follow our guidance provided in the on-line Albert guide to search and register for classes.
c) The 3 Core Program required classes are found under Liberal Studies.
d) Find your 4th class under Liberal Studies or one of the other NYU schools. Please note prerequisistes and/or other class restrictions.
e) Some lectures in the College of Arts and Science may have an associated recitation (RCT) you are required to register for in addition to the lecture.
5) Confirm your selections by viewing your class schedule in Albert:
a) Click on the “My Class Schedule” tab under the “Enroll” tab in order to view your schedule.
b) You will see your classes in a list format, and you can click on “Weekly Calendar View” to see your classes in chronological order for any given week.
c) Remember the first week of class will not include your Monday courses because there are no classes on Labor Day.
