PROCESS FOR NEW
PROGRAM REGISTRATION AND PROGRAM CHANGE APPROVAL New programs and requests for program or title changes need whatever individual school approvals are required before being officially sent by the Dean's Office of the particular School to the Office of Academic Program Review for review and submission to the New York State Education Department. (However, the Office of Academic Program Review will review drafts at any point during the internal NYU process.) Please submit two copies of proposals. Proposals for new graduate programs on the master's and doctoral levels (other than dual degree programs based on existing registered programs) also need the approval of the University-wide Graduate Commission before they are officially submitted to the Office of Academic Program Review. Undergraduate proposals many need to be reviewed by the Undergraduate Curriculum Advisory Committee. Proposals must have the approval of the particular School before being submitted to the Graduate Commission. The Commission meets twice yearly and is chaired by the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Science. The contact person is Dale Rejtmar (x88040). After the Office of Academic Program Review reviews a proposal it will be submitted to the State Education Department. 2008-09 Graduate Commission Calendar Calendar and sites to be determined. |
