Angel Velasco Shaw, an international media artist and educator, has been developing a body of work around issues of identity, post-colonialism and feminism from a Filipina American's perspective, working in Asian, Filipino American (media arts, cultural) communities here and in the Philippines. Her films and videos are Nailed, Balikbayan (Return to Home), Oxygen, Nina and Sara, Burgeoning, Soliquy, and Graf.Fi.Ti. She has taught at The New School for Social Research Media Studies Graduate Program; Hunter College, CUNY; and Columbia University. She has been teaching at NYU and Pratt Art Institute since 1995.
