Sukhdev Sandhu, DPhil, MA (Oxon) was born in West London and educated
at Oxford. He was a postdoctoral fellow at NYU's International Center
for Advanced Studies from 200-2001. He joined APA as an Assistant
Professor in English Literature in September 2001. His publications
include Ignatius Sancho: An African Man of Letters (1997) and Black
British Writers, the first volume of Pickering and Chatto's 'Slavery,
Abolition and Emancipation' series (1999). He is currently working on
a study of Asian and Caribbean descriptions of London since 1700. He
also writes for the London Review of Books, The Guardian and The Daily
Telegraph.
